Renault Twingo Overview

The Renault Twingo is classed as a city car which is produced by the French automobile manufacturing company Renault. This vehicle has been in production since 1992 and is currently in its second generation. The Twingo was never sold in the UK for the first generation. It was introduced to the UK in 2007 when the second generation Twingo was released. These cars were not too well received in the UK and are not very well refined. Most versions are well equipped and have a surprisingly decent amount of room in the cabin. They are cheap to buy but don't hold their value well. The build quality could be better but you do get a lot of mileage for your fuel. Does this sound anything like your experience of this car?

Renault Twingo History

The first generation (1992-2007) was only available in left hand drive markets in Europe and some South American countries. The design for this car was taken from a Polish prototype car from 1982, the Beskid. It had some facelifts in 1998, 2000 and 2004, before being discontinued in 2007. The second generation (2007-present) Twingo was also produced for the market in the UK. Some critics were not too impressed with the styling of the car. It is based on the platform of the Renault Clio II. The Twingo was facelifted in 2011 and received a new look, which gave it better styling. This new Renault styling would now be used on all future Renault's.
