Vauxhall Antara Overview

The Vauxhall Antara is classed as a compact SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) which is produced by the British automobile manufacturers Vauxhall Motors, which is a subsidiary of the German company Opel. This vehicle has been in production since 2006, and is marketed under different brands worldwide, including Chevrolet Captiva and GMC Terrain. The Vauxhall name is only used in the UK and it is known as the Opel Antara across continental Europe. These vehicles have powerful engines and are good at handling. They are expensive to buy and the ride is not the best. They have good safety features and are very spacious. Does this sound anything like your experience of this vehicle?

Vauxhall Antara History

The Vauxhall Antara was introduced in 2006 as a replacement for the Vauxhall Frontera. This vehicle is designed on the Theta platform and is based on the Chevrolet Captiva. It was originally based on the opel Antara GTC which was a concept car, but was later turned into the 4-door 7-seater SUV that you see today. In 2010 the Antara was given a makeover, which gave the vehicle a new front end and also changed the front and rear lights. The interior also had a makeover, and the new 2.2L diesel was introduced to replace the previous 2.0L version.
