Fiat 500 Overview

The Fiat 500 is classed as a city car which is produced by the Italian automobile manufacturing company Fiat. The current version has been in production since 2007 and is still in production today. The 500 name was first used in 1957 and this version was in production up until 1975. The current version in production is a modern remake of the older, popular Fiat 500. The current version has a cute little appearance and has some amazing safety features, the best in the class. They are good fun to drive, cheap to buy and pretty good on fuel. On the downside, they are not the most reliable, poor handling and lack space. The price certainly makes them worth considering. Does this sound like your experience of this car?

Fiat 500 History

The original Fiat 500 (1957-1975) was only 10 foot long, and was considered to be one of the first ever city cars. This version had a rear mounted engine whose design was based on the VW Beetle, and was produced to meet the demand of the public for economy cars. The current version (2007-present) was produced to celebrate 50 years since the original 500 was introduced. There are a variety of different version available and has become a popular little city car across Europe. This vehicle scored 5 out of 5 stars in the Euro safety tests and is top of the class in this area. This is the current version on the market.
