Volkswagen T4 Overview

The Volkswagen T4 is classed as a light commercial vehicle which was produced by the German automobile manufacturing company Volkswagen. This vehicle was in production from 1990 to 2003, and in 1996 Volkswagen created a subsidiary called Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles who were responsible for the production of all commercial vehicles. This vehicle was a replacement for the ageing Type 2 T3. These vehicles are very well built but can be costly to buy second hand. These vans are seen as being very reliable, comfortable and have plenty space in terms of storage and in the cabin. They have some good engines and are well worth considering if you are after a second hand van. Does this sound like your experience of this vehicle?

Volkswagen T4 History

The Volkswagen T4 was introduced in 1990 and is better known as the Volkswagen Transporter. This van was a replacement for the Type 2 and was the first Volkswagen van to have a front mounted water cooled engine, and was long overdue. For reasons unknown, VW kept their rear mounted engine up til this point, lacking far behind competitors. The T4 was the first van to officially use the Transporter name and was available in several different versions. The T4 ceased production in 2003 to be replaced with the T5. Many still consider the T4 a better looking van than the T5.
