The Vauxhall Mokka has once again made it to the top of the European charts, by becoming the best seller for February 2014.
This same vehicle is sold as the Opel Mokka in the rest of Europe, and only bears the Vauxhall name in the UK. We have written a full 2014 Vauxhall Mokka review which you can read by clicking here.
The Mokka has been in production since 2012 and already, Opel/Vauxhall have 200,000 orders for the vehicle and they hit their first target of 100,000 vehicle sales by April 2013. Sales of the Mokka have doubled across Europe in under a year and Vauxhall/Opel hope that this increase in demand continues for this lovable little SUV.
This vehicle is currently the third best selling compact SUV in Europe, with 11.3% of the market. In some countries across the continent, the Mokka is the best selling SUV, with over 20% of the market in both Finland and Norway. It is also number one in Germany with 12% of the market share.
In the UK the Mokka holds 17% of the market, making it the second best selling compact SUV in the UK. Vauxhall have had over 36,000 orders so far in the UK and sold 14,000 vehicles in 2013 alone.
Tim Tozer the Chairman and Managing Director of Vauxhall Motors said this about the vehicle sales in the UK: “We are delighted with the Mokka's sale performance. The Mokka was one of the first compact SUV's to be launched and it has been very popular with our customers ever since.”
