Mazda3 Overview
The Mazda3 is classed as a small family car and is produced by the Japanese car manufacturing company Mazda Motor Corporation. This vehicle was introduced in 2003 as a replacement for the Mazda 323. This car is available as a hatchback or a sedan and is a front wheel drive car. These cars are well designed and look pretty stylish. They have some of the best safety features of this class; they are reliable and good fun to drive. There is not much space in the rear but they handle very well and are definitely worth considering if you are after a small family car. Does this sound like your experience of the Mazda3?
Mazda3 History
The first generation (2003-09) of this car was an instant success and received praise from the press for its design and performance. Some critics felt it performed more like a sports car and it has the looks to match. It is built on the same Ford platform as the Ford Focus and received a cosmetic makeover in 2008 to some exterior and interior parts such as bumpers and materials used in the interior.
The second generation (2009-present) had a redesign to suit Mazda’s design philosophy of the time. It gave the car a very modern appearance and made the car slightly larger than its predecessor but using the same Ford platform. This version uses Mazda’s i-stop technology which greatly improves fuel efficiency on the vehicle. This is the current version on the market.
