This vehicle is produced in the Spanish city of Vitoria-Gasteiz where this vehicle takes it name from, the Vito. It is also believed that it is named after an exemplary employee named Vito Rosenstein. The Mercedes Vito panel vans are extremely well built and look very stylish too. Mercedes Vito 108 CDi History

The first generation (1996-2003) Vito was based on the design of the Volkswagen Transporter. This is where the chassis was taken from and the Mercedes V-Klasse also uses this same body. This vehicle is a front wheel drive van and the 108 CDI offers a 2.2L diesel engine. The second generation (2003-present) Vito has a new selection of engines and is now a rear wheel drive van. It also has a new more streamlined design making it more aero-dynamic. The new design has a much more sloped front window and all the latest version Vito's meet level 4 of the Euro compliance for emissions.
