Nissan Fairlady Z Overview

The Nissan Fairlady Z is classed as a sports car which is produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturing company Nissan. The Fairlady Z name was first used in 1969 and is still used on the sixth generation of this car today. The Fairlady is most commonly known as the Fairlady Z. The Fairlady name is mainly used on the Japanese market, with the rest of the world calling them xxxZ, e.g. 240Z. This series of sports cars is the best selling sports car series of all time. These cars are great looking and have great performance. They are also reliable, well-equipped and are very cheap to buy compared to some competitors. Nissan Fairlady Z History

The first generation (1969-78) was introduced in 1969 for the Japanese market. Through its lifetime there was some larger engines made available from the original 2.4L. The 2.6 and 2.8L were introduced at later dates. The second generation (1978-84) main changes were the new 5-speed manual gearbox and this version was extremely popular. The third generation (1984-1989) had a complete re-design and a 3.0L engine. The fourth generation (1989-99) had the same engine as the previous version but with an updated exterior and interior. The fifth generation (1999-2009) had a totally different exterior design than previous versions and was received well by enthusiasts. The sixth generation (2009-present) has the most powerful engine so far, with a 3.7L V6 engine. This is the current version on the market.

The Nissan Fairlady Z is currently available with a 3.7L V6 petrol engine. Earlier versions were available with 2.4, 2.6, 2.8, 3.0 and 3.5L petrol engines.
