Renault 4 Overview
The Renault 4 is classed as a supermini which was produced by the French automobile manufacturing company Renault. This vehicle was in production from 1961 to 1992 and was the first front wheel drive family car to be produced by Renault. These cars quickly became very popular due to their spacious interior and practicality for a car of this class. These cars were also known for their reliability and very good build quality. They may not have been the best looking cars but they had a real good features and were very good economically, which was lacking in a lot of cars at the time. Renault 4 History
Renault first built the Renault 4 as competition for the Citroen 2CV which was dominating this class in France at the time. It was introduced in 1961 alongside the smaller and cheaper Renault 3. The base model on these cars were very basic, and didn't have some features which were almost essential, so they were soon discontinued. There wasn't many changes made to this vehicle throughout its lifetime. Although these cars were extremely basic, this helped them to be a popular choice for those seeking a cheap little car. It was around a long time, but started looking very dated compared with other cars and production ceased in 1992.
