Vauxhall Zafira Overview
The Vauxhall Zafira is a compact SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) also known as a ‘people carrier’ or ‘space wagon’. Vauxhall is part of General Motors UK and is the British department of the German Opel car manufacturer. The interior for this vehicle is well designed, with the seven seats and allow the rear seats to fold right down to provide extra storage space. This vehicle is better to drive than most of its competitors; it has several airbags as standard and comes with a life time warranty.
Vauxhall Zafira History
The Zafira A (1999-2005) was based on the Astra G platform and was developed in conjunction with the help of Porsche. This was the first Opel/Vauxhall people carrier to be developed.
The Zafira B (2005 - present) is the current version in production and was again based on the Astra platform of design, this time the H/C model. In 2006 this vehicle broke into the top 10 of all car sales in the UK.
The Zafira C (2011 - present) was introduced as the Zafira Tourer, and is a larger version of the Zafira. The second generation Zafira B will still be available along side this version as a cheaper, smaller version of this vehicle.

The available engine sizes are available for this vehicle: 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 and 2.2 for petrol and 1.7 and 1.9 for diesel. The fuel economy will be determined by the age, type of petrol and size of the engine. The best version in regards to economy is the 1.7 CDTI Ecotec diesel engine.
