The Brake Light Rear Centre is an additional brake light to the two left and right rear brake lights which are incorporated in the rear light units. The centre unit is usually higher than the rear lights and may be lit by either light bulbs or led light strip.
On some vehicles it is situated above the rear window, on others below the window. On Cars with a boot it is sometimes fitted to the boot lid.
Problems occurring with the Brake Light Rear Centre, requiring replacement, may be due to water entering the unit through cracks in the plastic or a damaged seal, causing corrosion to the electrical contacts.
