Knocking Sound
Problem:
You can hear a knocking sound when driving. The car also sits very low.
Solution:
It’s not very common, but broken coil springs can cause this. While it is a bit tricky to replace them yourself, you can find them at very low prices in our store, and you can save a lot of money by doing the replacement yourself.

Instrument Lights Have All Illuminated
Problem:
Every light on the instrument panel is illuminated, and the car might even fail to start.
Solution:
Water has entered your fuse box. You might be able to resolve the issue by simply replacing the fuses, which we can supply quickly since we always keep them in stock. In more severe cases, you’ll need to replace the entire fuse box.

Water Inside the Car
Problem:
Water is entering the cabin and footwell, causing damage and a damp smell.
Solution:
Check the roof-mounted aerial, as it is often not sealed properly and can allow water to enter the car. You can fix this by using plastic adhesive, but if the water has damaged the aerial, you’ll need to order a replacement from us and fit the new one. Also, examine the passenger door seal, as this is a common cause of water damage. You can order a new passenger door seal from our store and replace it easily.

Steering Wheel Isn’t Straight
Problem:
The car drives well, but the steering wheel isn’t aligned properly.
Solution:
This is a common issue on the Berlingo Multispace, but it’s easy to fix. Loosen the holding bolts, reposition the steering wheel, and then retighten. However, a misaligned steering wheel can cause uneven tyre wear, so you might need to order replacements from our parts list.

Weak Brakes
Problem:
You have to apply more pressure on the brake pedal to stop the car.
Solution:
It’s quite possible that some material has become detached from the timing belt and is adversely affecting the brake vacuum pump. Later models feature software detection that can identify this issue before it causes problems. You will need to replace both the vacuum pump and the timing belt, both of which we always have in stock. You should also update your detection software, which any Citroën dealer should be able to do for you.
