About Washer Jetss
Mitsubishi washer jets are used on the front and rear windscreen of vehicles. There are two Mitsubishi washer jets to each windscreen and are positioned in the outermost corners of the windscreen with one on the driverside of the vehicle and the other on the passenger side. They are small metal nozzles with black rubberised protective covers that help prevent them from corrosion. The Mitsubishi washer jets are attached to motorised pumps. These pumps force water or washer fluid from the water reservoir bottle out through the nozzle of the Mitsubishi washer jets and on to the windshield for the windscreen wiper to use when washing the windscreen.
Problems with Mitsubishi washer jets can arise from blocked nozzles. This could be down to dirt and debris or in very cold weather, the tip of the nozzles can be frozen. If a Mitsubishi washer jet is not spraying water on the windscreen you should first check the water reservoir bottle as this may be empty. If it has water or fluid in it, you should check for blockages. Other issues can arise from a faulty washer pump or tubing which transports fluid to the jets.
Mitsubishi trivia
- It was in 1995 that Mitsubishi unveiled the world's first Gasoline Direct Injection engine. It is now the industry standard thanks to its reduced environmental impact.
- Mitsubishi designed and built the first electric car to drive 2000 miles in under 24hours. This was in 1992, but it wasn't until 2010 that they released the i-MiEV, which quickly won the Most Advanced Technology Award. It was the first electric car to sell 10,000 units!
- The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is hard to park. That's because it doesn't have a reverse gear! Rather than simply sliding it into reverse, drivers have to change the rotation of the first and third gears. It saves weight, but it's not easy to get used to.
- A Mitsubishi Starion Turbo was almost as big of a star as Burt Reynolds after it featured in iconic chase film Cannonball Run II.
- Mitsubishi didn't just win the 1974 East Africa Safari Rally. They came second and third too! They've also won the Dakar Rally an impressive 12 times, with seven of those wins being consecutive.
