About Heater Blower Fan Motor

The Avensis Toyota heater blower fan motor is responsible for moving air through the car's cabin heating (and if fitted cooling) system. Much like a desk fan the heater blower motor rotates a fan which causes air to be forced through the ducting and out the vents in the car's dashboard or floor.

The Avensis Toyota heater blower fan motor is generally located behind the car's dashboard and is connected to a network of ducts which allow the fan to move air to various areas of the interior. The motor has a resistor which allows the speed to be varied via a switch or lever on the dashboard.

The AvensisToyota heater blower fan motor can fail due to a bad connections, damaged wiring or switch, a blown fuse, a worn resistor, worn motor or because the fan is stuck or jammed against another internal component.

Toyota Avensis trivia

  • The best ever year for the Toyota Avensis in terms of sales was in 2004 when it saw an impressive 142,535 units sold across Europe. There were a few positive blips after that, but sales gradually reduced until 2019, when only 897 were sold in Europe.
  • The name Avensis comes from the French word avancer, which means to advance. However, in Latin, the word Avensis also means to carry away.
  • The Toyota Avensis was the very first car to be sold in Europe that came with a knee airbag! This is now a standard feature in the majority of modern vehicles.
  • The largest single market for the Toyota Avensis is selling them as fleet cars. Partly, this is thanks to its extremely low running costs.
  • The third generation (just like the second) is manufactured in the Burnaston plant located in Derbyshire.
