About Door
Fabia Skoda car doors are used by the driver and passengers, sitting in the front or back seats, to enter and exit the car.
A standard car door usually opens outwards and is normally mounted to the frame of the car with hinges which are fixed to the car with either bolts or pins. Fabia Skoda car doors are fitted with a section of glass, which makes up the car window.
Most manufacturers of modern cars favour aluminium for parts such as car doors, because it is strong, durable and rustproof while being lightweight. Car doors can also be made of steel and strong plastics. The interior of a car door, referred to as the car door card, will usually consist of a strong plastic cover lined with various materials such as leather or vinyl to compliment the rest of the interior design. In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, the car door card houses controls for electric windows and the locking mechanism.
Whether the Fabia Skoda door has been damaged, not working properly, needs replacing due to general wear and tear, or you’re simply renovating your car, it’s important when replacing any door to make sure you purchase a door that is compatible with the make, model, and year of your car.
Skoda Fabia trivia
- Famous graffiti artist, Armando Gomes once painted a Skoda Fabia with 125 different colour combinations. The redesign was ordered and paid for by an anonymous owner of a Fabia who wanted to show that the car could be personalised in any way people wanted.
- The Skoda Fabia is an estimated 34% more popular with men than with women.
- The Skoda Fabia VRS, released in 2003, was the first exclusively diesel hot hatch. That's right; there was no petrol version! It didn't hurt the brand either, and the VRS was called the Diesel Car of the Year in the Scottish Car of the Year awards.
- One of the most famous adverts in the world was for a Skoda Fabia. An entire Fabia was made out of cake for the UK advert, and it cost £500,000 to make (more than the price of a real Fabia!). Julie Andrews had to give personal approval to the advert because it featured her singing My Favorite Things.
- There's a pick-up concept car based on the Skoda Fabia Mk3. It was unveiled at the Wörthersee GTI fan meeting in 2015 and was designed by students from the Skoda Auto University.
