About Fuel Injector

The CorsaVauxhall Fuel Injector is a unit which delivers fuel, under pressure through a nozzle to the cylinder for combustion.

The injectors are fitted close to the inlet manifold, one for each cylinder, the injectors are all calibrated (adjusted) to equally spray a mist of fuel into the intake of each cylinder in a sequence controlled electronically, for the sequential firing of the engine. All diesel engines have fuel injectors, petrol engines may have fuel delivered from a carburetor, where air is mixed with the fuel  in the carburetor before entering the inlet manifold.

Faults occurring with the Corsa Vauxhall fuel injector can be blockages, worn nozzles and springs which affect the balance between injectors.

Vauxhall Corsa trivia

  • A prototype fourth-generation Corsa was used by Vauxhall to set a Guinness World Record for the 'largest GPS' drawing in the world back in 2014. The Halloween-themed drawing covered the entirety of mainland Britain.
  • If you want your headphones to match your Corsa, then you can check out the set of headphones designed by Vauxhall as part of the UK Beatbox Championship of 2011.
  • The Corsa might, on the surface, not seem like it has a lot in common with the Series 2 Lotus Elise, and... it doesn't really. However, the two cars do share the same indicator and wiper stalks!
  • After Richard Maddox (a pensioner in the UK) had his bright yellow Corsa vandalised by neighbours in his quiet country village, a stream of Corsas drove by his home in support. Vauxhall also renamed the yellow they use for their cars to Maddox Yellow!
  • Famously, the rapper Tinie Tempah's first car was a Corsa. Other famous owners include the boxer Nicola Adams, and former Doctor Who Matt Smith, who sold his Corsa on eBay for £6,300 and donated the money to charity.
