About Boot Light
At the rear of a vehicle in the luggage compartment of a hatchback or estate car, or in the boot of a saloon car there is a light to illuminate the area inside.
The 9-3 Saab boot light is activated through a switch which is operated automatically when the door or bootlid is opened.
The light is a small pop out unit which is housed in the interior trim in the area of the luggage compartment.
The bulb is normally replaceable. The unit may need to be replaced due to faulty bulb contacts or breakage of the plastic body which prevents the unit staying in position. The 9-3 Saab boot light will ensure you get a part that is compatible with the make and model of your vehicle.
Saab trivia
- The Saab 900 was built between 1978 and 1993 and is the best selling Saab ever. In that time, it sold a total of 980,817 cars, around half of which were the convertible model. They can still be seen on UK roads very regularly.
- The Saab concept car, the EV-1, was unveiled in 1985 and had a few cool features. One was the addition of solar cells to the roof (to power a ventilation fan) and self-repairing bumpers.
- There was lots of controversy over the Saab 93 in Sweden. Not so much the car itself, but the marketing for the vehicle clearly showed a young couple in bed together, but the woman wasn't wearing a wedding ring. Complaints poured in from shocked Swedes, and Saab hastily added a wedding ring.
- The Saab car badge is a very stylized version of the wing from an aeroplane.
- The character of Jerry Seinfeld drove a classic Saab 900 convertible. It wasn't shown much onscreen, but viewers did see him sell it and buy a newer Saab.
