The luggage load cover is a functional, removable cover, positioned over the luggage area, protecting and hiding luggage and belongings from sight, also providing an extra storage shelf in the car.

The luggage or storage compartment is usually located at the rear of the vehicle in what is referred to as the boot. The luggage load cover is positioned inside the car, above the luggage compartment, behind the back seats. The luggage load cover is made of a rigid and durable plastic and covered with a material that is hard wearing and aesthetically pleasing. Manufactured to fit the specific make and model of your car, the luggage load cover is the ideal part when you need to replace the luggage load cover in your car.

Often held in place by straps or pegs, some luggage load covers are retractable and can be pulled out when needed and pushed in when not. Other luggage load covers are foldable, or work with a hinged mechanism and be be lifted up and removed when more boot space is required.

The luggage load cover, although hard wearing, will eventually need replacing due to general wear and tear. If broken, worn out or damaged, when replacing the luggage load cover it's important to make sure it's compatible with the make and model of your car. Placing objects on a badly fitted luggage load cover can compromise the strength of the cover and could cause structural damage, as could using it to carry objects that are too heavy for it.  It’s important that the luggage load cover fits your car properly and is secured well, to avoid it flying up and potentially hitting passengers in the back and becoming a hazard by obstructing the driver's view.
