About EGR Valves
A <Model> EGR valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) is fitted to reduce your car's Nitrogen Oxide emissions. It does this by recirculating some of the engine's exhaust gas back into the engine as this helps to reduce the combustion temperature and therefore the amount of NOx produced by the engine.
The <Model> EGR valve is located between the exhaust and inlet manifold usually on the back of the engine.
The EGR valve is responsible for recirculating or re directing exhaust gases back into the engine through the inlet manifold. The <Model> EGR valve is generally controlled or regulated by pressure or VAC lines to ensure that it is opened and closed at the correct time.
Your EGR valve can stop working due to leaks in the VAC lines, blockage due to soot deposits or failure of the actuator/control mechanism.
Chevrolet trivia
- The first Chevrolet was the iconic series C Classic Six. It sold for the very low price of just $2,150. That's about £1700 in proper money.
- The Chevrolet Series C Classic Six was built as a prototype before the company even officially existed! The overlap is testament to how keen the company was to get going, and they quickly incorporated in time to unveil the car in New York.
- The first Chevrolet was a bit of a disaster. Nobody wanted to buy the car, probably because the price was higher than other, similar vehicles. It was only when Louis Chevrolet left that the company started to turn things around.
- Chevrolet holds the number one and number three positions on the list of America's most popular cars. Although Ford's Mustang is in second place, the Corvette is the number one car in the US, with the Camaro at number three.
- When it comes to stock car racing, it's hard to beat Chevrolet. As of 2015, they became the most successful manufacturer in the history of NASCAR, with 749 race wins and a staggering 38 manufacturer's championships.
