About Door
407 Peugeot car doors are used by the driver and passengers, sitting in the front or back seats, to enter and exit the car.
A standard car door usually opens outwards and is normally mounted to the frame of the car with hinges which are fixed to the car with either bolts or pins. 407 Peugeot car doors are fitted with a section of glass, which makes up the car window.
Most manufacturers of modern cars favour aluminium for parts such as car doors, because it is strong, durable and rustproof while being lightweight. Car doors can also be made of steel and strong plastics. The interior of a car door, referred to as the car door card, will usually consist of a strong plastic cover lined with various materials such as leather or vinyl to compliment the rest of the interior design. In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, the car door card houses controls for electric windows and the locking mechanism.
Whether the 407 Peugeot door has been damaged, not working properly, needs replacing due to general wear and tear, or you’re simply renovating your car, it’s important when replacing any door to make sure you purchase a door that is compatible with the make, model, and year of your car.
Peugeot trivia
- You know the name Ettore Bugatti and the brand that bears his name, but did you know that Bugatti also designed the four-cylinder engine in 1912 for the Peugeot Bébé? You can't miss that unmistakable Bugatti look once you know that fact, and the car quickly became France's best selling car.
- It's hard to believe, but the Peugeot company was founded in 1810! Of course, it didn't make cars then. Instead, it built pepper mills, salt mills and, eventually bicycles. It wasn't until 1889 that the first Peugeot car was made (they only made four of them, and they were powered by steam).
- Lots of car manufacturers tried building electric vehicles at some point, but Peugeot had more success than others in the 1940s! Fuel restrictions promoted the design, and the car came with four 12-volt batteries that meant a range of 80km on a single charge and a top speed of 32km/h.
- Peugeot has won the European Car of the Year an incredible five times. The earliest win was in 1969, and the latest was as recently as 2017 (the Peugeot 3008).
- Peugeots have been seen on the big and small screen. Most notable, the Peugeot 403 convertible was the car of everyone's famous scruffy detective Colombo. There was also an episode of Absolutely Fabulous where Edina and Patsy drive through France in a 205.
