About Grab Handles

The Rover grab handle is a useful device which has the primary function of assisting with the ease of entering and exiting the vehicle. This function is particularly beneficial for elderly people or people with mobility difficulties. The grab handle allows some leverage enabling the user to lift themselves out of the seat with ease.

Usually made from a mixture of plastics and strong, woven cloth, grab handles are usually mounted in the roof, located just above the car door and can be found on all of the car doors.

Although primarily functioning to assist when entering or leaving a vehicle, grab handles located in the rear of a car are also used by car owners to hang up items of clothing, such as a smart suit, that would otherwise get creased. The grab handle is also used by passengers to help them to get comfortable when travelling, when shifting position in the seat, for example. Passengers can also grab hold of the Rover grab handle to keep them steady if the car has to stop suddenly, for example.

If the functionality of the grab handle has been compromised in any way, for example, has been broken; snapped; not fixed to the mounting securely; or is coming loose, it will need to be replaced. Purchasing a new Rover grab handle for your vehicle will ensure the ideal fit for the make and model of your car.

Rover trivia

  • The iconic logo of Rover is a Viking longship. Currently, the rights to using that logo are in the hands of the Jaguar Land Rover group.
  • The MG Rover Group was the last mass-production car company in the UK to be owned by domestic owners.
  • Although there were a few Rover-made cars released in the ‘80s, none of them had the word Rover on any of the badging. Instead, they were called Austins, but they did have a similar, Viking-inspired badge.
  • MG Rover sold all of its key assets to the Nanjing Automobile Group in 2007 after going into administration.
  • The MGF is what is known as a part bin special, which isn't as bad as it sounds. It means that the MGF uses elements and (actual) parts from older cars. The vented front discs are the same as the Maestro and Montego.
