About Doseur Valvess

A Vauxhall doseur valve (sometimes known as a doser valve), plays a key part in a vehicle’s hydraulic braking system. Its job is to send brake fluid, which has been converted in to hydraulic pressure to the vehicle’s brakes.

The Vauxhall doseur valve is located by a LMH reservoir which holds hydraulic fluid. The doseur valve goes in to operation when the brake pedal is pressed by sending the pressurised hydraulic fluid from the reservoir to the brake lines. The level of pressure is crucial in ensuring that the brakes work. Too little pressure and the brakes will fail.

It’s also key that there is no air in the system. This will result in a delay between the pressing of the brakes and the brakes working, which could be fatal. Any delay in the activation of brakes should be immediately checked by a reputable garage.

Other signs of a Vauxhall doseur valve failure could include the vehicle leaking hydraulic fluid. This green coloured liquid may be seen on the ground under the vehicle. You may also see a lit warning light on your dashboard to tell you that there is an issue with your vehicle’s braking system.

Vauxhall trivia

  • The Vauxhall flagship vehicle is the Vauxhall Insignia. The family car has been in production since 2008 and was designed to replace the Vectra and the Signum. In the US, the Insignia is known by the rather grandiose name ‘Buick Regal’.
  • It's the Corsa that is, by far, the most popular make produced by Vauxhall. Even as late as 2019, there were twice as many Corsa sales as there were of any other type of car.
  • The Vectra C is a very popular car, especially among the police force, and it's now common to see car buyers desperate to pick up an ex-police Vectra for cheap. It is estimated that Vauxhall manufactures as much as 70% of the UK police forces cars.
  • If you're looking for a real bargain, you can't go wrong with the Vauxhall Viva. This small hatchback is the cheapest model that Vauxhall makes!
  • WWII got in the way of making cars, as Vauxhall started building the famous Churchill tank instead. It was designed and started rolling out of the factory in less than a year, and they made over 5,600 of them!
