About Sun Visors

The MINI Sun Visor Driverside is a movable flap intended to block the glare when driving towards the sun.

The MINI Sun Visor Driverside is attached by a movable arm, internally above the windscreen, directly in front of the driver position. The arm can swing around to block the sun from the side window. The Visor covering is usually matched to the car interior. The Visor may have a vanity Mirror revealed when the visor is pulled down. This mirror may have an electric light.

The MINI Sun Visor Driverside may need replacing for aesthetic reasons, such as tears in the covering or problems with the connection and movement of the arm.

MINI trivia

  • The Morris Minor Mini was the first British car to sell over one million units. It reached that landmark number back in 1961.
  • The Mini Copper gets its name from F1 car designer John Copper.
  • It takes between five and eight days to build a Mini from scratch.
  • The Mini's designer, Sir Alec Issigonis, didn't like car windows that had to be rolled down. In fact, he didn't think that cars should have side windows at all!
  • There's a lot of wasted space in a lot of cars, but not the Mini. Designers say that as much as 80% of their car's interiors can be used by passengers.
